This is the queen stage, running from the northern to the southern tunnel portal and over the pass. The mountain hikes takes you past the crystal-clear Lai da Palpuogna mountain lake, over Alp Weissenstein, up to the Fuorcla Crap Alv (2,466 metres above sea level) and then steeply back down into the Val Bever valley and the idyllic end to the stage in Spinas.
According to a competition held in 2007, the Lai da Palpuogna mountain lake is the “most beautiful place in Switzerland”. Upon stopping at the end of the lake, it is not only the surrounding mountains that catch your eye; Piz Ela and Piz Rugnux soar majestically into the sky and are also reflected in the crystal-clear water.
